Saw a homemade cheese press online. Anyone built one? Is it better than buying? I'm not sure if I can take on the challenge yet but it's been playing on my mind. Any suggestions are welcome!

If you enjoy DIY and want to save money, it’s worth trying! Just make sure it applies even pressure and is easy to clean. That said, if you’re short on time or want consistency, a store-bought one might be easier.

honestly, it depends on your budget and skills. it can be better, not just because it's cheaper, but it's customizable too. if you don't mind the hassle, then it's better to make it yourself

I built an "Off the Wall" cheese press several years ago. Wasn't difficult if you have basic woodworking skills. The plans are $5.00 on New England Cheese Making site.
